Neuropsychiatrist Dr. Johann Spittler evaluates and supports people in Germany who wish to pursue euthanasia.

Dr. Johann Spittler is a neuropsychiatrist who evaluates and supports people seeking assisted suicide in Germany - within a society that is politically and morally divided. As the public debate grows stronger, we observe the doctor’s empathetic conversations and work, becoming aware of the ethical weight and emotional complexity of his role. We encounter the perspectives of people who wish to die on their own terms and according to their own principles. If the mission of every living being is to continue living, should it not also have the freedom to decide about its own death? The film raises questions about the burden of responsibility for one’s life and the right to freely choose when and how to end it. It invites reflection on differing ethical beliefs and on the stoicism with which we face human tragedies and decisions.
