Dimitri, gradually losing his sight, continues to photograph the world and the people around him.

Dimitri loves photographing those around him, yet for years images have been escaping his sight. He knows that one day he will no longer see. He can no longer take pictures as he once did. Despite his progressing blindness, day and night, hidden behind his camera, he captures light, bodies, and emotions. Sounds indicate to him when to press the shutter. Together, we wander the streets of Paris, New York, and other places, meeting friends – such as Pierre, who lost his sight twenty years ago – as well as lovers and strangers, encountered by chance or during photo sessions. Dimitri’s photographs converse with the world and provoke reflection on perception, reality, and human relationships. They explore the senses, memory, and what is invisible to the eye. The film is not only about the art of photography but also about seeking the meaning of seeing – even when vision fails.
