“Trillion” is a minimalist, poetic film that captures the majesty of the landscape, the textures and rhythms of light, and the delicate gesture of the artist K49814.

Walking along the jagged coastal rocks with a large jute bag, the woman creates a quiet, mesmerizing scene. The director crafts an unforgettable minimalist experience, capturing the interplay of light, textures, and the rhythms of the landscape – from its grandeur to its tiniest, most enchanting details. As she empties the bag, tiny particles are lifted by the wind. The natural soundscape is complemented by string and piano compositions. These small, delicate elements, appearing almost like water droplets in slow motion, are fish scales. The artist performing this gesture, known as K49814, wishes to remain anonymous. As an emotional Kossakovsky said of the act: Its a way of apologizing to the ocean”. Trillion” is the second film in the directors so-called empathetic trilogy”. The first, Gunda” (2020), explored the daily life of a pig, showing its personality rather than the violence of slaughter. Similarly, in Trillion”, there is no industrial fishing; the story focuses on a solitary woman who, through her unique and subtle gesture, seeks to apologize” to the ocean by returning the scales to the sea.
