The autobiographical stand-up by the protagonist of “Coexistence, My Ass!”, the opening film of this year’s festival, is an activist comedy performance in which laughter becomes a tool for exploring complex political issues, challenging dominant social narratives, and promoting equality. Through humor about everything from growing up in a binational Israeli-Palestinian peace village in Israel, to her dating life, to politics, Noam centers her complex identity as an Iranian-Jewish-Israeli woman. As both an activist and a comedian, Noam satirically examines her multidimensional identity in this one-woman biographical show, pushing audiences to confront difficult truths that may not always be funny but demonstrate that dialogue and openness are possible.

Noam Shuster-Eliassi - comedian, performer and activist. Raised in Wahat al-Salam (Neve Shalom), an Arab-Israeli village dedicated to promoting peace and coexistence, she performs her activist comedy in three languages - Hebrew, Arabic and English. In 2018, she was named the “New Jewish Comedian of the Year” in London. That same year, she was also the first Jewish performer in the Palestine Comedy Festival.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Clean Shelter, a foundation providing sanitation and shelter for displaced communities in Gaza. We encourage larger donations to support the work of the organisation: https://www.cleanshelter.org/

The performance will be in English.
